From the bartender

Cocktails were first defined in 1806 in an article from
an American newspaper as a mix of spirits, sugar, water, and bitters. In 1862, the popularity of this versatile and creative drink category increased thanks to Jerry Thomas, who published the book “The Bartender’s Guide”. Creativity grew even further during Prohibition around 1920, due to the so-called illegal “speakeasies.” This, combined with the rediscovery of classic techniques by the craft cocktail movement of the late 20th century, has resulted in the rich cocktail culture we know today.

THE SECRET WEAPON OF THE COCKTAILWORLD

Every great cocktail has a secret, a small detail that brings all the flavours together. For many mixologists, that secret lies in just a few dashes of bitters. Made from carefully selected herbs and spices, bitters add depth, balance, and an aromatic edge. At Yugen, we love how their herbal character blends seamlessly with our kombucha’s natural taste, creating drinks that are alive with complexity yet refreshingly simple.
