The story behind 'Living Tapestry'
“When I started imagining this piece,” Pieter said, “I kept coming back to the idea of a tiny underwater universe, one where every natural element is woven together. Plant, animal, human… everything flows into one another, forming a delicate, living fabric. It’s fragile by nature. A single tear, a tiny thread coming loose, can weaken the whole and create holes that can’t easily be repaired. But that fragility also carries a message. If we care for this ‘living tapestry’, if we treat every part of it with attention and respect, it remains strong, resilient, and whole. That tension between vulnerability and harmony is what I wanted to capture in the artwork.”
